In 1992, George Snyder was working as a truck driver and had just bought his first machine to do some small, residential excavation work in his spare time. After some time, George finally came to the realization that he was happier doing the excavation work and—with the support of his family—took the risk of quitting his day job and concentrating on "Snyder Excavating". George began to grow his business, buying more machines and quickly got into commercial development work. As the business expanded, George started taking his business wherever there was work, not only performing work in our home state of Pennsylvania, but surrounding states as well.
In 2017, the Snyder X building in West Sunbury, PA became home to our office and many machines.
In 2024, the business was converted to Snyder X LLC to better support the company's growth.
Currently, Snyder X concentrates most of its work in commercial and residential development, sports fields and facilities, and development for the gas and oil industry. However, we still stay true to where we started and occasionally take on some small local residential projects.
Snyder X was built on the values of quality, work ethic, respect, safety, and teamwork and has earned a reputation for reliable, efficient, quality work. We are proud to be a family owned and operated business and hope to continue to grown the business for the generations to come.
